I love the simple elegance and special significance of this table. I've never seen a napkin fold like that before -- is it hard to do? I'm not at all skillful at things like that but would love to try!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your comments so much! You will never know how much they have inspired Pat and me. As for the fold, luckily, I have a talented sister who showed me how to fold napkins (and a mother who made me iron....Pat is "keeping up the tradition" by the way.....) It's easy to do - quarter the napkin, roll three of the layers to the center, turn it over, then fold in thirds. And iron like crazy!
DeleteWhat a wonderful tribute to your father -- and ALL veterans! I am so very grateful for their service. You had just the right dishes in your collection.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice tribute to your father. Simply elegant! I love cobalt against white...so sharp looking.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week...
So elegant and perfect for Veterans' Day...I love the cobalt Bormioli charger. Is it a new item, or have you had it for a while? Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteWhat a striking table! The colors just about pop off the computer screen!! Your tables are always unforgettable, but this is a special treat because of the touching significance of it. Well done! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch P.S. Love that napkin fold!!

Simple, elegant table...beautiful, yet personal. Grand!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to honor your dad -I did not think of doing a patriotic table and we celebrate Veterans Day big at our house -my husband is a Desert Storm Vet and it's my son's birthday! Jennifer
ReplyDeleteI too have my daddy's 50 and my Uncle Bill's 48 star flags. What a special way you've honored your dad and reminded the rest of us that more than turkeys and Christmas trees are coming up. Keeping the emphasis where it belongs, I'm going to follow your example and make a modest tabletop tribute to them and all veterans, including my Vietnam-era husband. I do regularly enjoy both of your blogs.
