Boxed cold cereal continues to be one of the most popular Breakfast choices in the United States with nearly three billion boxes sold every year. Not just for kids, adults love the convenience and the variety. Hard to believe? Yeah, it's true. Some of the most popular cereals include: Cheerios, Frosted Flakes, Fruit Loops, Lucky Charms, and Frost Mini-Wheats. Nothing too healthy....Top with full-fat milk and added sugar and you have a heart attack or high cholesterol, or diabetes in the making. Shudder.
Cold cereal is so popular in our extended family that Pat and I had to buy two sets of "Vintage Kellogg" accent plates to set tables years ago. Still using them, Still loving them. (Full disclosure: I haven't eaten breakfast cereal since I was a kid. I am 75 now. Guess you could say it is not so popular with me but I love the plates.) Anyway, Pat set this week's table for a Breakfast get together:
Flatware is one of my favorites: "Decision" by Noritake
One of our first purchases at Pier 1 when they opened the store (seems like a very long time ago) in our area
Pat set up mugs for those who wanted coffee. She used a dinner plate and matching soup bowl ("Mulberry" by The Celler from Macy's 2009-2010) as a stand.
This red bowl is actually a "Fun Factory" footed bowl by Waechtersbach
