April 2nd is International Children's Book Day - a day set aside to inspire a love of reading in children and to call attention to the wealth and types of children's literature available. Since Easter falls on the following Sunday, Pat couldn't help but combine the two celebrations into one tablescape.
Not your classic or traditional Easter colors......but very typical for Pat. Flatware is satin "Meridian" by Cambridge
Pat bought several sets of these accent plates a few years ago for a Christmas party she gave for her husband's Lions Club (a service organization that provides eye exams and glasses for those in need.) They are perfect for this week's theme.
"Peacock" Fiesta(ware) was introduced in 2005 and discontinued in 2014.
Fiesta(ware) "Paprika" was introduced in 2010 and discontinued in 2017.
Pat found the antique gold chargers at Tuesday Morning four or five years ago
Glassware is "Espresso" by Lenox
Lots of popular middle-grade books here - nice to see that even well known authors (like James Patterson) have written series of books for younger people. My favorite in this stack are the "Enola Holmes" mysteries about Sherlock's much younger and very independent sister.
Love this little guy - his peacock colored jacket was the inspiration for the color of the dinner plate
From the other end of the table
Beige Tablecloth and Matching Napkins - from Linentablecloth.com last year
Antique Gold Chargers - from Tuesday Morning four or five years ago

Dinner Plate - "Peacock" (2005-2014) Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Macy's

Not exactly tablescaping stuff:
March is Middle Grade March 2021 for those who participate in the month long readathon on Booktube and Instagram to celebrate "the amazing category of books that many times we forget about as adults." It's so fun to be able to have an excuse to reread all of my favorite books as a child. Of course, I have no excuse to the dozens of other middle grade books that I just bought.......
Check out Krista at Books and Jams [@BooksAndJams] to learn all about it even though the event is almost over.
This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch: http://betweennapsontheporch.net/
