Pelican and Shell Tablescape

In addition to the bird plates from last week's post, Pat and I bought another set of bird plates at Pier 1 on our shopping trip. Pat was not "overly excited" about the pelican plate, but I loved it. Being a good sister and letting me have my way, she came up with this week's table before she left town to visit her daughter..

Surprise, Pat!!! I know you hated the metal pelican, but I had to get it........this will teach you not to leave me alone with the table while you are gone.

Yes, I know, the stuff inside the shell doesn't all "go together" - but it's my first attempt at a centerpiece......

I originally thought about just setting the pelican out at the party Pat is giving next month, but I couldn't wait. (You can tell we have both have a weird sense of humor.) Don't leave me on my own, Pat, to finish up the table.......

I put one of the mugs on the table so you can see what it looked like

Birds and Twigs Tablescape

A few months ago, Pat and I made a trip to our local Pier 1 and found "another" set of dishes that we couldn't live without (Someday soon, I am going to do a "Where do you keep it all?" expose to come clean about our addiction. I did it several years ago (Here) but now we have a lot more stuff....remember - you have to admit that you have a problem to begin to recover from it.)\

Anyway, Pat pulled out the new dishes today and set the table.
We bought both the dinner plate and salad plate in this pattern but Pat didn't want to use the salad plate this week

I love the blue goblets - they were a gift from our dish addicted cousin a few years ago (it runs in the family....)

Lenox Interlude Table

Certainly not a "demure" pattern, Lenox's "Interlude" (1975-1985) is classy and a bit splashy. I love the rusty red and blue combination. It always looks special when used to set the table.

Definitely not reserved, Lenox "Interlude" is not for the faint of heart

Mother's Day Table

This week's table is set in honor of our Mother. She loved dishes and passed this passion on to Pat and me for which we will always be grateful.
Mom would have loved the vintage look of this table

Pat found these sweet accent plates at a local thrift store for less than fifty cents each.

Pat made a larger arrangement of flowers for the centerpiece and then made two smaller ones on the other side of the candles.
