The California drought is officially over in our county (especially since we have had almost 60 inches of rain so far this season.....) Was Pat ever excited! No more water rationing - she hopes - this summer. As I sit here, once again, writing up the blog, it is raining - not buckets of water, but nature is letting us know she is in charge. But that's OK. Let's hope we get through the mountain icepack melting without too much flooding (or worse yet, dams overflowing.)
Sorry, once again, I digress. Tablescaping.....that's what this blog is about. So - Pat decided to set the table this week to celebrate the drought being over. She is anticipating planting lots of flowers this summer.

Pat chose the dinnerware because of the flowers - however, currently, these are my everyday dishes, so I had to wash some of them before she could set the table. (As many of you know, I have a "problem" when it comes to dishes. I am able to change my everyday patterns frequently - it's a blessing and a curse....).

I love these very colorful plates - they make me happy - from Pier 1 this season.

Believe it or not - it took longer to select the napkin and how to place it for this tablescape than anything else. Pat tried several colors and folds. Nothing looked right - so - this is what she settled on.

Frogs have had a bad reputation lately. But they always remind me of where we grew up - directly across from a huge pond where we floated homemade rafts through the slimy frog eggs - sounds quite dreadful and dangerous now....but back then, it was fun. Funny how sixty years can change one's perspective of things.

Pat set the candle holders on Fiesta(ware) "Marigold" bread/butter plates so they would show up better
