Winter Color Tablescape

Time for a little purple on the table - What better way to get over the freezing weather humdrum. (It's more wet than freezing in our area - fortunately. However the roads in and out [north and south] of the county are closed from slides. Makes it really "fun" if you have to go outside the county. You drive east and go around - and I mean go around - hundreds of extra miles......)

Enough of me pandering to the weather gods, let's talk tables. Pat wanted to use dinnerware that we haven't used in a very long time. The accent plate and the place mat are from Pier 1 eight or nine years ago. Both were on sale - of course, you know, we buy anything on sale and I mean anything. So Pat brought home these plastic place mats that were purple! I almost died. Ugly. But she has used them over and over and I must admit, I'm warming to them....

The accent plate is "Chrysanthemum" stoneware by Pier 1. The dinner plate is "Trilogy" from World Market.
Flatware is Kate Spade's  "All in Good Taste" by Lenox

Glassware is "Jet Black" by Reizart

Pat used an assortment of silk purple flowers and greenery directly on the table for the centerpiece

One last look from the other end of the table

Where it came from:
Place Mats - from Pier 1 eight or nine years ago
Dinner Plate - /Black "Trilogy" from World Market years ago (but still available)
Accent Plate - "Chrysanthemum" stoneware from Pier 1 many years ago
Flatware - Kate Spade's "All in Good Taste" from Wayfair five years ago
Drinkware - "Jet Black" by Reizart from Replacements.com
Silver Lace Napkin Ring - From Art & Old Things (a local antique store) many years ago
Purple Napkins - from Linentablecloth.com last year (a really neat site for inexpensive tableware and wedding supplies)
Black Candle Holders - part of Pat's Depression Glass collection
Purple Candles - from the Ferndale Emporium (another local store that used to carry really neat kitchen items)
Silk Flowers and Greenery - from Michael's

This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

  4. LOL that you thought the placemats were ugly! I have purple round straw placemats that I've used only twice (once for Halloween). I have your placemats in a seafoam green color that are my everyday mats. Always love to see your table creations. You both do a fabulous job.

  6. The color is so refreshing! Where I live we are buried under 24 inches of snow and ice, the accumulation of several successive storms. Everything will be stark and white for a long while! This table reminded me of how much I enjoy it when the lilacs bloom. I have a nice row of them (they are really ancient) and last year they gave me a wonderful show, a feast for the eyes and nose. Your purple placemats are proof that sometimes we pick up something on sale (or inherit something) and after giving our minds time to mull it over, we find it is not only useful, but spectacularly so!
