Black and White Checked Christmas Tablescape

Pat selected another fun Santa from our collection for this week's tablescape and ran with the theme of black and white checked. She used a mixture of Fiesta(ware), "Home" collection dinnerware from Target, and chargers by Bernardaud.
The black and white checkered tablecloth from Linentablecloth.com was only $9.99 (still is) so we had to have it since it matched Santa's coat

Stainless steel flatware is "All In Good Taste" from Kate Spade
The simple soup bowl and matching mug are from Target years ago.
Pat used White, Black, and Sage Fiesta(ware)
The coup-style charger is by Bernardaud

Ready For Christmas Tablescape

I am so very ready for Christmas and all that it brings - joy, family gatherings, good food, happy times. All of us need these things this year. So, it is no surprise that we start with our first Christmas tablescape of the year. Pat selected a rustic Santa with burlap in tones of white and gray as the inspiration for the table.
Here is a fun, casual table to use any day in December

Flatware is oversized "Vintage Countryside" by Ricci
The double beige and gray napkins are held by a wreath of berries
The beige salad plate is "Spice Route Salt" from Pier One
The gray dinner plate is also from Pier One
One of Pat's favorite chargers - "Faience Gray" by Christofle

The short, "stocky" size of the goblet matches Santa

Thanksgiving Tablescape

Thanksgiving will soon be here and it is time to think about how we are going to set the table. Yes, I admit, most people think about what they are going to serve but for us, it is so much more fun to think about how the table will look when the food is presented.

For this week's table, Pat used Lenox "Heritage Glen" [1995-1998] - it definitely gives off an Autumn vibe with its fruit bouquets around the rim. She paired it with a fruit/vegetable centerpiece arrangement and a pineapple in the center. (In colonial times, the pineapple in the center of the table symbolized hospitality and a warm welcome to guests. It was served as dessert in the more affluent households. Less prosperous households just rented the much sought after fruit for the evening.)
Pat tried two different colors of place mats - finally settling on this blue tone instead of a green one.

Glossy stainless steel flatware is "Cameo Gold" by Mikasa. Although the picture does not show it well, it has a gorgeous gold rope edge.

The charger is "Mansfield" by Lenox (we "borrowed" them from Pat's daughter years ago.....)

Glassware is from Pier 1

Autumn Tablescape in Brown

Staying clear of the quintessential oranges and rust colors of Autumn, Pat set this week's table in brown tones. And for a change, she set it for just six people instead of our typical eight place settings.
Once again, Pat used two place mats to add interest and additional color to the place setting

Flatware is "Vintage Countryside" by Ricci
The accent/salad plate is "Village Harvest" from Pier 1 - oh, I do so miss our local Pier 1.......
The dinner plate is "Chocolate" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin. The napkin is wrapped around the charger.
Pat used two chargers: a "Black" Fiesta(ware) chop plate and a metal fluted charger from Pier 1

Glassware is "Clarion Brown" by Lenox

Pat used an assortment of Autumn "fillers" to make an arrangement for the centerpiece
