Pfaltzgraff Naturewood and Cabbage Tablescape

Inspiration for this week's table came from dinnerware that I have owned for over twenty-five years. I started buying individual pieces and continued until I had a complete 12-place setting set. It hasn't always survived earthquakes (many of my big serving bowls, soup tureen, coffee pot and salt and pepper set) were smashed to smithereens but I still have lots of plates. So Pat decided to use the dinnerware and added some Bordallo Pinheiro "Cabbage" to give it an updated look.

Flatware is "Montana" by Gourmet Settings
Although this is technically a soup bowl, Pat is using it as a salad bowl

Glasses are our "fallback" - extra large goblets from the Dollar Tree
Since salad was the beginning course of the meal, Pat used salad-making vegetable for the centerpiece
Where it came from:
Reversible Place Mat - from Pier 1 several years ago
Sage Green Charger - from Pier 1 seven or eight years ago
Dinnerware - "Naturewood" by Pfaltzgraff
Salad Bowl and Salt/Pepper - "Cabbage" by Bordallo Pinheiro from where ever we can find it
Flatware - "Montana" by Gourmet Settings from Bed, Bath, and Beyond many years ago
Glassware - from the Dollar Tree (still available)
Centerpiece Wood Bowl - from Pier 1 six years ago

Summer Heat Tablescape

With most of the country suffering through horrible weather - floods, excessive heat, tornadoes - Pat thought that this week's table should reflect the unpredictability of our climate by setting a table with color tones that are slightly out of her comfort zone. She mixed oranges, yellow, and greens for a somewhat different and "sweltering" Summertime tablescape.

Pat used clear acrylic flatware so that the colors of the placemat showed through
Double napkins held by a flashy napkin ring adds to the "heat"

The "sizzling" orange dinner plate is "Fun Factory" by Waechtersbach

Originally, Pat used a flower arrangement for the centerpiece but settled for simple greenery. She felt that the flowers "competed" with the colorful plate settings.
Where it came from:
Floral Place Mats - from Tuesday Morning years ago
Sage Green Glass Chargers - from Pier 1eight or nine years ago
Orange Dinner Plates - "Fun Factory Free Style" by Waechtersbach from Replacements,Ltd.

Gummi Worms Tablescape

July 15,  2023 is National Gummi Worm Day. While the origin of the day is in question, it is fun to observe it by eating gummi worms, sharing them with friends, or trying recipes out that contain gummi worms. You might add them as an ice cream topping for a worm sundae or place them in a drink. Fun. (By the way, the proper spelling is "gummi" and not "gummy." I've been spelling it wrong for years.)

Pat couldn't wait to set the table this week - inspired by all the colors and whimsical nature of gummi worms.
As you can see, each place setting has a different colored dinner plate, accent plate, and bread and butter plate

Flatware is "Butterfly" by Godinger
This bold napkin ring is from Pier 1.
The glassware has unusual and whimsical rims that add to the fun.

Pat added containers of gummies as each end of the table
Pat baked a moist chocolate cake  for "dirt" and crumbled it into these individual appetizer glasses by Libby. Then she decorated it with colorful gummi worms. Serve with chocolate syrup or whipped cream.
