Celebrating the Women's Suffrage Movement

In 2019, 25 out of 100 Senators were women, and 102 out of 435 Representatives were women. (This is according to the Center for American Women and Politics.) Not bad - since this has been accomplished in the last one hundreds years after women gained the right to vote. The 19th Amendment to the Constitution was authorized in 1920 (with Mississippi being the last State to ratify the amendment in 1984 - a bit overdue, I would think......)

Enough politics - when Pat spotted some cute accent plates last year, she immediately thought that they would be perfect for a "Suffragette" Women's luncheon tablescape. Although we cannot get together to celebrate this milestone due to Covid-19 social distancing requirements, Pat set the table for all of us to remember such heroic and dedicated women as Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucy Stone, Alice Stokes Paul, and Ida B. Wells to mention only a very few.

Flatware is "April" silverplate by International Silver Co.

Pat used Wedgwood "Edme" to highlight the sweet accent plate since the rims were similar

Once again, the charger is actually a "Rose" Fiesta(ware) chop plate

I love it when Pat uses this pattern of glassware - "Esprit" from Princess House. I remember getting "invited" to many, many Princess House home parties  in the 1960's. Oh, dear, I have really aged myself......

Pat used matching "Edme" candlesticks and vase - she flanked them with "Rose" Fiesta(ware) bud vases

One last look
