Simple flatware looked best. Pat tried some others but she settled for this pattern. |
Pat grabbed my "TBR" (to be read next) stack and used it as the foundation for the centerpiece |
Yes, I admit it, I, too, am a Harry Potter fan. You can debate the literary value but, at least, he got millions of kids to read. |

This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch: http://betweennapsontheporch.net/
Not Tablescape Related:
From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank everyone who sent kind words to us inquiring about our health and how we were doing. It has been a somewhat rough and very quiet few weeks but both Pat and I are doing fine. As you know, we are in the "high risk" category of over seventy and are trying to be cautious. Our first "outing" together was to the garden center. We had a fabulous time. But we missed tablescaping - so we hope to continue with our weekly get-together if all works out OK.
Please keep safe.
Now, on to another "problem" that has grown while we have been staying at home:
What does one do when you are unable to get out? Can't buy plants. Can't go to thrift stores. Can't go shopping. We read. Lots of books. I found myself adding to my already large collection of books - the internet was a goldmine for inexpensive reading material. (Pat has the same problem - but she has put herself on a "book buying freeze" until she reads the three boxes of books that she has stored under her bed. She has lots of others but her goal is just those boxes. Sure, Pat....)
My bookshelf end tables in the family room - each shelf holds four stacks |
Just a small bookcase in the family room. I've got to find room for the books on top.... |
Bookcases at the end of beds in the bedrooms....this one with some nonfiction |
Another bookshelf - this one along the wall in another bedroom |
I'm so happy to see a post from you! And what a fun, pretty table. I love to read and have been doing a lot of it, too - mostly light, quick reads on my phone with the Kindle app. I have that space problem, too, otherwise. Stay safe and well, both you and Pat!
ReplyDeleteDear Ladies - Such a relief to have you back! I'm glad you're both healthy and well. Thanks so much for creating this creative post with cheerful colors. I spot a couple of favorite books: The Book Thief and of course Little House on the Prairie Series and Harry Potter. Stay well and best wishes.
