Winter Noritake Thurston Tablescape

What's with the weather in California?? It's wild that's what. Poor Pat...not just two destructive  earthquakes - one 6.4 and the other 5.6 - that severely damaged her home, floods and swollen rivers that nearly took out the bridge already damaged during the quake connecting a major road near her, and now, an extraordinary and  unheard of heavy snowstorm that has messed everything else up. You may have notice we did not post last week. Snow - very heavy and deep - snow was the reason. And now this week, it is raining - really, really raining. Just another fun day along the very northern coast of California.....

Lucky for us, our great-niece was here and came up with this week's tablescape. She used Noritake "Thurston" dinnerware along with a Pier 1 gold plate and a Fiesta "Sage" chop plate as the charger.

Flatware is satin-finish gold "Kyoto" by Holister

Glassware is our very sentimental "Esprit" by Princess House that Pat  and I purchased in our twenties.
The Armani figurine is one from our Mother's collection.
Pat made small arrangements of pink roses to go at each end of the table

One last look

Where it came from:
Lace Place Mats - from a local Department store long out of business
Charger - "Sage" Fiesta(ware) Chop Plate by Homer Laughlin from Replacements,Ltd.
Dinnerware - "Thurston" by Noritake from a local thrift store three or four years ago
Gold Plate - from Pier 1 six or seven years ago
Flatware - "Kyoto" by Holister from Wayfair seven years ago
Glassware - "Esprit" by Princess House years ago
Sheer Napkin Overlay - a gift from Pat years ago
Green Napkin - from Pier 1 six or seven years ago
Napkin Ring - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond five or six years ago

This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

  1. Lovely! Your niece is obviously a chip off the block - the color combination is gorgeous, and I love Pat's flowers! SO sorry she's having all that damage from the weather though! I hope things settle down soon. Thanks for the beautiful inspiration once again!
