Summer Fun with Fiestaware Tablescape

This week's tablescape inspiration came from the tablecloth - Pat used a black and white checked pattern (Pat rarely uses a patterned tablecloth preferring to keep it simple and let the dinnerware set the tone for the tablescape.) She said it "screamed" picnic and summer fun so she came up with a casual place setting using Fiesta(ware) and a cute accent plate from Pier 1 a few years ago.

Flatware is ceramic handled "Decision" by Noritake

Remember these cute accent plates with ants? Perfect for any picnic....

This is a "White" Fiesta(ware) Luncheon plate

Pat likes to use Fiesta(ware) chop plates as chargers - this one is "Scarlet"

Once again, Pat used simple Dollar Tree goblets

What could be more "picnic like" than ants? These are salt and pepper shakers.

The centerpiece consists of three lanterns

Where it came from:
Checked Tablecloth - from Tuesday Morning last year
Dinnerware - Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Macy's, Kohl's, and Replacements.com
Ant Accent Plate - from Pier 1 three or four years ago
Glassware - from the Dollar Tree (still available)
Flatware - "Decision" by Noritake from eBay
Napkin Rings - Inexpensive PVC pipe cut into 1" rounds and spray painted white
Red Lanterns - from Pier 1 last year
Ant Salt and Pepper Shakers - from eBay

  1. Although I hate ants, this is a really cute tablescape. I love the black and white checked tablecloth with the red checked accent plates. Summer picnic fun, for sure.

  2. I have the perfect napkins that would go with this...they are white with a red striped border and ants crossing

  3. Love this table setting. Years ago, reading your posts caused me to get serious about tablescaping. Like minds, I am getting ready to do an ants table too.
