Winter Table

Pat switched course this week and set an early Winter table (even though today we had a record breaking high temperature for this time of year - over 75 degrees. Normally, even in Summer, here on the north coast of California, we rarely get above 65-70 degrees......)

We couldn't pass these plates up at Pier 1 this season.

Pat used a black Fiesta(ware) chop plate as a second charger to add more interest

We found these glass chargers on the sale shelf at Pier 1 last year. Pat layered the napkin underneath since she did not want to distract from the place setting.

Another bargain from Pier 1, we have these silver trimmed goblets in a gold trim also.

From the other end of the table
Where it came from:
Glass Charger - from Pier 1 last year
Black Charger - Black Fiesta(ware) Chop Plate by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com
Dinnerware - from Pier 1 this season
Bread/ Butter Plate - Black Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com
Flatware - Black "San Remo" by Hampton Forge from Horchow's last year
Silver Rimmed Glassware - from Pier 1 this year
Napkins - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond several years ago
Candle Holders - from Michael's two years ago
White Reindeer - from Costco three years ago

We will be joining the following Blog parties this week:
"Dishing It! & Digging It!" at Rustic & Refined this Sunday:  http://www.rustic-refined.com/ "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

A Shameless Plug:  Please join us on our other tablescaping blog, "Table for One," designed for the person eating alone:  Here.  And during the first 25 days of December, we set a different table everyday featuring some of our Santa Claus collection and assorted dinnerware.

  1. What a beautiful table! It is so refreshing to take a break from fall colors with your black and white tablescape. I have been eyeing those tree plates from Pier 1, but am trying very hard to resist buying them. You just made it much harder! I'm glad those glass chargers are from last year so that I don't have to try to resist getting them as well. I hope both of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  3. Lovely table! Those glass chargers are very similar to my Candlewick pieces, I should remember to use those plates as chargers occasionally. A great table to start the holiday celebrations.

  6. Congrats on your luck scoring these wintery beautiful plates from Pier 1. They sold out super fast. Then our beloved Pier 1 closed. Really enjoyed seeing this table!!! Nice and cool during heat wave.
