Gingerbread Tablescape

Christmas is just around the corner. The "adults" in our family do not exchange gifts. Each year, we pool the money that we would have spent on gifts for each other and choose a charity or community organization (like Hospice, Cancer Society, Senior Citizen Center, etc.) and donate there. It is great for the place receiving the money, and it reminds all of us what Christmas is really for and why we are here. Then, the animal lovers in the group donate money and we choose an animal rescue or other animal organization.  So - even our pets can share in the reason for the season.

But this blog is about tablescapes - so, we decided to set a fun table this time and one that most people would not think about doing. I bought some large Gingerbread men from a local department store years ago and stored them. Pat thought it was time to pull them out and see what we could do with them. I think she picked a winner......
Over view of the table
Close up of the place setting
These "big guys" make a great addition to the table
The first layer of the place setting is this cute Gingerbread boy plate from Pier 1 this season
The next layer is a scarlett Luncheon plate from Fiestaware
The dinner plate and bread and butter plate are chocolate Fiestaware
The flatware is called Pendulum Platinum
Artland red goblet and brown Clarion by Lenox tumbler
Handmade napkin ring is actually PVC pipe spray painted brown with a Christmas ornament hot glued on top
This dandy gadget was made by Pat's very handy husband. Usually, they are used to display one of the many place settings that we own. This time Pat used it to hold up the "Big Boy" Gingerbread men.
