Hot Orange and White Summer Tablescape

Inspiration for this week's table came from the cotton place mats that we purchased on sale from Pier 1 years ago. (Since they were less than $1.00 each, we bought the matching blue mats, also.) Pat mixed Fiesta(ware) "Poppy" and "White" dinnerware and Noritake's "Primary" flatware to keep the theme of the table.

Where it came from:

Pretty in Pink Rose Chintz Tablescape

This week, our Great-niece Maya challenged herself to give an updated look to the table using the once very popular "Rose Chintz" Earthenware pattern from England by Johnson Brothers. It was made from 1930 through 2003 and is still sought after by collectors. [A later version was produced with a different backstamp from 2003 through 2011.]

My very dear but senior sister nearly had a coronary when she saw the checked place mat with the floral chintz dinnerware and the modern, sleek flatware. Cardiac arrest time......daring but looks great, I think.

Glassware is "Royal Pierpont" by Noritake
Centerpiece accent pieces (vase, candle holders and cream soup bowls with liners) are classic "Edme" by Wedgwood.

This week's tablescape is definitely not short on color. Our great-niece once again set the table to reflect a youthful, contemporary, and bold style - mixing patterns, textures, and colors much to the dismay of her very doddering old aunts.
