Remembering Our Cousin Tablescape

I have often mentioned our "dish-addicted" Cousin Trev on this blog. He, too, had dozens and dozens of sets of dinnerware, flatware (mostly sterling silver), and countless patterns of gorgeous crystal goblets. He treasured every piece. He relished in the idea of using his "stuff" daily taking delight to set a table for even the simplest meal. Sadly, he passed away this week after s lengthy battle with cancer. Pat wanted to set a table to remember him and celebrate his life.
Although Trev had the "real stuff" (Meissen "Blue Onion") we used Blue Danube. He had collected his dinnerware for years and had a tremendous collection

Flatware is stainless steel "Musee" by Reed and Barton

"Napkin rings are like the jewelry for the table" - one of Trev's favorite quotes. These are from Pier 1.
Trev liked to use French Portieux light blue goblets (which he had generously given me a set) but Pat vetoed the extreme color contrast

Where it came from:
White Place Mats - By Calvin Klein from Tuesday Morning years ago
Blue Glass Chargers - "Rondo Sapphire" by Bormioli Rocco from Ross years ago
Dinnerware and assorted pieces - "Blue Danube" manufacturer unknown from a local Department store long out of business
Flatware - "Musee" by Reed and Barton from Horchow six or seven years ago
Water Glass - Pattern unknown but from Pier 1 years ago
Wine Glass - "Premiere Cobalt" by Libby years ago but widely available
Blue Napkins - from Linentablecloth.com
Napkin Rings - from Pier 1 years ago

We will be joining Susan for "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch this Thursday: http://betweennapsontheporch.net/
