Autumn Pumpkin Tablescape

Pat really likes to set Autumn tablescapes as confirmed by the number of Autumn-themed tables we have posted. She promised me that next week our table would not be in oranges and greens. I am not a big fan of that fall color combination - I know it is almost sacrilegious to dislike Autumn but it is not my favorite season either. I can't wait for Winter and Christmas! (Alright, truth be told, I love Santa Claus, not Winter so much - well, collecting him, that is, as you can tell by my stash of hundreds of the jolly, round guy in all sizes. It's OK....It's excusable. I'm in my seventies - I'm eccentric....or weird, or quirky, or unconventional, or worse yet, "odd" as the family likes to say. Take your pick. I've learned to live with it.)

Well, anyway, here is this week's table:
The bread and butter plate is vintage "Old Ivory" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin. It was produced from 1936-1951 and is a treasured part of my collection of Fiesta(ware) bread and butter plates.

The satin-finished flatware is "Vault" by Gourmet Settings
The wire pumpkin napkin ring is from Pier 1 many years ago

Pat and I found the chargers on a super-sale rack at Pier 1 nine or ten years ago. We bought all of them. The original color was a dark brown wood tone. Pat's husband spray-painted eight of them in this burnt orange color for a tablescape challenge that we participated in featuring a bundt pan. It was really a lot of fun. (Here)

Glassware is "Lawrence" from Pier 1 several years ago
The centerpiece is just an assortment of pumpkins, squash and grapevine balls.

From the other end of the table

Where it came from:
Burlap Place Mats - from Tuesday Morning four or five years ago
Burnt Orange Chargers - from Pier 1 years ago
Dinnerware - "Harvest Garden" from Pier 1 four or five years ago
Bread and Butter Plate - Vintage "Old Ivory" Fiesta(ware) [1936-1951] by Homer Laughlin
Flatware - "Vault" by Gourmet Settings from Bed, Bath, and Beyond eight or nine years ago
Glassware - "Lawrence" from Pier 1 six or seven years ago
Napkins - from Linentablecloth.com (mail order) two years ago
Wire Pumpkin Napkin Rings - another Pier 1 purchase many years ago
Assorted Pumpkins, Squash and Garland - from Michael's, Ross, and TJMaxx

This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

  1. You are unique, and that's just fine! I loved seeing all your Santas when y'all did a different blog post about them every day in December a few years ago - although maybe that was on the Table for One blog - anyway, they are marvelous. I love this table, too. October is the only month I really tolerate orange, but somehow it seems right in October. Those chargers! I'd have bought all of them, too. I like the dinnerware plates and how all the other pieces work with them. This is a lovely fall table.
