Summer Rodeos and Cowboys Tablescape

It's rodeo season in our local area - many of the surrounding small communities put on big displays of "roping and riding" during July and August. It seems like when one town's rodeo ends, another begins.... (It also seems a bit "odd" that we have so many rodeos in our area - our town sits on the true northern coast of California - not the "wild west" - but a small fishing and lumber community that is surrounded by redwoods and sometimes fog and usually not a cowboy in sight.)

Anyway, Pat thought it would be fun to set this week's table celebrating rodeos.
Dinnerware is "Cowboy Reflections" by Montana Lifestyles. Pat used two chargers to add weight to the place setting.

Flatware is "Iron Brown" by Noritake - I always say it is truly "iron" - I have had this set for forty years and have had to replace only a couple of knives (where the handles broke trying to slice through meat - Ah, ha! Another reason to go vegetarian!)

The green charger is a "Sage" Fiesta(ware) chop plate. Homer Laughlin started to produce this color in 2015 and retired it this year

We found these chargers at Pier 1 a few years ago

The stand is actually a candle holder that we found at Kohl's  - Pat thought it went well with the cowboy theme

This handsome guy is "Wyoming Pete" - one of Richard Simmon's Nana's Family dolls. He is just one of the many dolls that our Mother collected from Nana's Family.

One last look from the other end of the table

  1. This is a fun table, for sure! I love the rope, and the cowboy in the centerpiece is perfect. I really like lanterns, and these two look just right with the rustic chargers and flatware.

  2. This table is so unique. I love it, especially the cowboy salad plates and Wyoming Pete, the candleholder. It is perfect for your table. The rope details, lanterns and wood chargers really add to the rugged cowboy theme. I really enjoyed it since I also love the Old West theme. So special!
