New Years' Resolution Tablescape

"Fern" from Richard Simmons doll collection (designed by Annie Wahl). We call her Virignia after our Mother's "exercise buddy."

I never make resolutions for the new year, but when Pat came up with the idea for this week's tablescape, I couldn't resist going along with it......Our ladies' Luncheon Group will enjoy it.

Over view of the table

The place setting

Flatware is by Nobility - simple silverplate

The place setting starts with two napkins held by a beaded multicolored napkin ring

Sorry the color is washed out, but this is Sea Mist - a vintage greenish Fiesta color by Homer Laughlin.

Next layer is a Rose Fiesta Luncheon plate

Sea Mist Fiesta Dinner plate

Pat used hot pink chargers to match one of the centerpiece dolls' swimsuit

Dollar Store glassware

Our version of a "Center(piece) Fold". Both lovely ladies sit on Yoga blocks (I have no idea what they are but Pat tells me she uses them.....)

When Richard Simmons came out with this doll, I knew it would be in my collection. I call her "Rose" after our Mother - she is an exact duplicate....even the hot pink swimsuit and flowery swimcap. Mom was always trying to lose weight.......she and Virginia took up swimming for a while.

One last look from the other end of the table

Where it came from:
Metallic Purple Placemats - Pier 1 years ago (Pat had to have them - purple? I said. It's an old lady's color. She told me to look at my driver's license.)
Hot Pink Charger - Inexpensive lacquer chargers from Michael's spray painted
Dinnerware - Vintage Sea Mist  and Rose Fiesta by Homer Laughlin from anyplace we could find it (mostly eBay and Replacements)
Flatware - by Nobility from eBay
Glassware - Dollar Store
Exercise Equipment, Book, DVD - from Pat
Centerpiece Dolls - from Richard Simmons' Annie Wahl collection

One of Pat's awards

We are going to join Susan at "Between Naps on the Porch" this week:

New Years Eve Tablescape

With New Years Eve tomorrow night, naturally, the table has to be set. The color scheme is silver, white and purple:
Over view of the table

The place setting

Flatware is "King James" silverplate by Oneida

Pat started the place setting with a small sauce bowl and liner

The pattern is simple - small white flowers on the border with a thin platinum band

Pat used a purple napkin to give separation between the dinner plate and salad plate and add more color

This is just an inexpensive silver lacquer charger

We couldn't resist these placemats when we saw them at Bed, Bath, and Beyond a few weeks ago

Pier I had these glasses in both purple and red

Pat used silver candles to carry out the color scheme

The arrangement consists of small white roses with baby's breath in a silver bowl on a round mirror

Decidedly different place for the sauce spoon....
