Blue and White Tablescape

Try as we might, it seems we cannot set a table without using at least one Fiesta plate (the iconic American-made and vastly popular dinnerware by Homer Laughlin.) This week is no exception. We tried other plates.....lots of them, but to no avail. The Fiesta Cobalt Blue dinner plate is the only plate that "fit" perfectly into our color scheme. So, without any apologies, here goes another table - albeit different in style and theme from other tables that we have done recently.

Pat had to mix the flatware up a bit......much to my dismay - way out of my comfort zone

Next is the ever present Fiesta dinner plate - this time Post 1986 Cobalt Blue. I swear the plate is brand new even though it looks battered in this photo.

Pat bought herself a present the other day - this fantastic rolled bowl from our favorite local antique store

Then Pat used six blue and white Dansk candle holders to carry out the blue and white theme

White Plate Challenge

Cuisine Kathleen of "Let's Dish" [ http://www.cuisinekathleen.com/ ] issued a challenge to tablescape bloggers for this week posting - design a tablescape using white dishes and only one other color. Pat set about to do just that. Here's the sleek, modern table that she came up with:

Flatware is sleek, shiny, and very modern.

The pattern is "Fluence" by Oneida

The perfect choice - inexpensive Dollar Store glassware

The plates are also sleek, smooth, and modern looking. The simple olive green napkin is folded and placed under the salad plate.

One of Pat's favorite things to do to add interest to a table - use matching colored tea lights or votives

The centerpiece consists of just four glass cylinders holding white candles - no fuss, no glitz
