Caribean Dinner Tablescape

This week's tablescape was definitely a challenge. Pat wanted to set a table to go with her latest cooking craze - Caribbean cuisine. It's a blend of many cultures including African, Indian, Chinese, and European. Common ingredients in the food are also popular vegetarian foods (beans, rice, bell peppers, chick peas, sweet potatoes) along with chicken, fish, and beef (oh dear, will I never get my family to cross over to the dark side....vegetarianism?) I had never heard of something called "Jerk Chicken" until Pat assured me it was easy to fix and very popular. The food is colorful, light, and flavorful. So, that is the direction for the table.....
Over view of the table - bright and bold
The place setting
Flatware is the very popular "Bamboo" by Cambridge
Pat used a combination of green and orange glassware
First layer of the place setting is a yellow and an orange napkin held together by a green napkin ring
The salad plate is by Gates Ware from Ross
The dinner plate is Tangerine Fiestaware by Homer Laughlin
Last layer of the place setting is a charger by Bordallo Pinheiro
The round wicker placemat is from Pier 1 - it sits on a burnt orange placemat
The five piece place setting plus butter spreader
Pat made a fresh fruit centerpiece in a black basket

The unusual candle holder is from Kohl's several years ago

Orange votives in frosted white votive holders sit on green leaves

The Tangerine Fiestaware Bread and Butter plate hold a "Bamboo" butter spreader
