Jungle Tablescape

What a crazy week: severe deadly snow storms, Ted in and out of Cancun, COVID-19 deaths at half a million, Donald's taxes fair game for New York to investigate, the pillow guy gets sued, some nutcase on the FOX network disparages and ridicules the First Dog [surely there is more "pressing" news out there, FOX], and the list goes on....So Pat felt we needed a fun table - one that makes you not only feel good to look at but to use "someday." 

The great accent plates are "Jungle" by Sakura

Flatware is "Bamboo" by Cambridge

Of course, Pat has to use Fiesta(ware) because there are so many colors available - this one is "Chocolate" - first introduced in 2008 and discontinued in 2012.

The charger is  a "Meadow" Fiesta(ware) chop plate introduced last year and still available

I didn't think that we would ever find a use these napkin rings (from Bed, Bath, and Beyond years ago) but they are perfect for this table

Winter Color Tablescape

 Time for a little purple on the table - What better way to get over the freezing weather humdrum. (It's more wet than freezing in our area - fortunately. However the roads in and out [north and south] of the county are closed from slides. Makes it really "fun" if you have to go outside the county. You drive east and go around - and I mean go around - hundreds of extra miles......) 

Enough of me pandering to the weather gods, let's talk tables. Pat wanted to use dinnerware that we haven't used in a very long time. The accent plate and the place mat are from Pier 1 eight or nine years ago. Both were on sale - of course, you know, we buy anything on sale and I mean anything. So Pat brought home these plastic place mats that were purple! I almost died. Ugly. But she has used them over and over and I must admit, I'm warming to them....

The accent plate is "Chrysanthemum" stoneware by Pier 1. The dinner plate is "Trilogy" from World Market.

Glassware is "Jet Black" by Reizart

Pat used an assortment of silk purple flowers and greenery directly on the table for the centerpiece

Royal Albert "Brigadoon" Tablescape

What with Winter storms, COVID-19 surges, lack of enough vaccinations, political turmoil, insurrection, Impeachment, and the Super Bowl, Pat thought that we needed to set a serene and tranquil table this week to slow down our lives a little. So she chose one of her favorite patterns - Royal Albert's "Brigadoon" - to use as the dinnerware and paired it with subtle accent colors.

Simple. Sweet. No frills. Just a nice table to relax over.

2021 Mardi Gras - Staying Home Version

 According to the Associated Press, since there will be no Mardi Gras parade this year, people all around New Orleans are decorating their houses as floats. Pat thought this was a great idea and decided to set the table this week with a wild and flashy Mardi Gras theme since the weather in our area won't permit outdoor decorating (and the neighbors would think we were wackier than we really are.....you know, those "dish ladies".....)

Thanks to Pier 1's "eclectic" style, we have lots of bold, wild dinnerware to choose from. All the dishes were from our local store over the years. I really miss it.

Pat started the splashy tablescape with a light gold lame tablecloth

The clear glass accent plate didn't show up well on red, so Pat lined it with a gold salad plate

We found the gold-leaf chargers at Costco years ago

The bold beaded napkin ring holds a gold and a red hemstitched napkin

Is this wild? Pat found Christmas decorations and "repurposed" it. Then she strung beads around the gold cracked-crystal-like candle holder for added bling
