Black and White Checked Tablescape

No formality here - this week's table is a bit lively and casual with a feel of Winter to it. Pat used an older set of dinnerware that we bought years ago at Pier 1 from the sale shelf. (I'm still reeling from the news that our local Pier 1 is set to close this year - I just about cried when the assistant manager broke the news to Pat and me last Sunday. What a disaster....maybe not a disaster to the pocketbook but still a heartbreak....)

Pat started with leather-like place mats to add a touch of warmth to the table

Flatware is "Primary" by Noritake

This is a "White" Fiesta(ware) luncheon plate

Pat used a "White" Fiesta(ware) Chop Plate for a charger

Glassware is "Midnight Black" by Artland Glass Company

One last look from the other end of the table
Where it came from:
Leather Place Mat - from Pier 1 many years ago
White Chop Plate Charger. Luncheon Plate, Bread and Butter Plate - Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com and Macy's
Black and White Dinnerware - from Pier 1 eleven or twelve years ago
Flatware - "Primary" by Noritake from eBay
Glassware - "Midnight Black" by Artland from Target (mail order) years ago
Charcoal Gray Napkin - from Pier 1 this year
Napkin Ring - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond five or six years ago
Black Lanterns - from Michael's

This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

  1. I doubt that this china would have come home with me, even on sale, but in your hands it is wonderful! I especially like the lanterns with it, and the greenery is just the right touch with all the black/grey and white.

    1. I agree with you Joy. The dinnerware makes me dizzy when I look at it. But Pat always finds a way to use a "bargain" when it comes to dishes. Thank you for your kind words. You make our day.
