Seaside Table

Once again, while most of the country is experiencing very cold weather, we have our typical moderate temperatures - albeit wet sometimes - of 50 to 60 degrees. So Pat decided she and I should walk along the Bay this weekend to get in a "little exercise" and soak up a "few rays." (With Pat, a little exercise is at least 10,000 steps on her Fitbit......OMG...my poor flat feet)

Well, one thing that came out of the walk was the design for this week's table.

Pat found the driftwood-like chargers (made from mango wood) at World Market three or four years ago

These great indoor/outdoor placemats were on sale for 49 cents apiece before Pat "cleaned out" her purse of Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupons. And they took everyone of them.....we bought fourteen place mats and paid less than $4.00.

Pat found the "Anchor" flatware by Towle at Tuesday Morning last year

Designed to be a salad bowl, Pat makes double use of this "boat" - she filled it with a net and placed it on a bed of assorted shells.

The matching "boats" are for salt and pepper.

One last look from the other end of the table
Where it came from:
Place Mats - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond's sale rack last year
Charger - from World Market three or four years ago
Dinner Plates - Red "Fun Factory" by Waechtersbach from Replacements
Salad/Accent Plates - "The Burbs" Slate by Dansk from Tuesday Morning two years ago
Bread/Butter Plates - Vintage Cobalt Blue Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com
Napkins - handmade by Pat
Anchor Napkin Rings - from eBay
Flatware - by Towle Everyday from Tuesday Morning last year
Blue Water Goblets - from Mervyn's years ago
Small Beer Pilsners - "Quench" by Circleware from Ross three years ago
Centerpiece Boat, Lanterns and Salt/Pepper Holders - from Pier 1 at various times
Shells, Fishing Net, and Candles - from Michael's

  1. Lovely table, I am loving the red, white and blue. I haven't felt like doing a tablescape lately but now? I am starting to feel inspired. Thanks Ladies!

  2. I can see the "beachy" influence in this pretty table. I love those bargain placemats and the driftwood chargers. And of course, all the blue touches. Very, very nice!

  3. You are SO blessed to be living in a climate much more agreeable than the Midwest where we are still shivering, bundling on 50 layers of clothing, and blowing our noses like fiends! Getting out for a walk without having to layer on would be nice. I've been down since my most recent surgery 8 weeks ago, but once I'm able to walk without pain again (and can be trusted not to overdo it!), I'll be out there looking for that golden 10,000 number on my Fitbit, too! Here's hoping that day comes sooner than later!
