Mother's Day Table

Our Mother loved dishes.....that goes without saying. Anyone who ever visited saw walls and walls of dishes in her house. Dad patiently hung them up as Mom "arranged" them. So, I always say that Pat and I came by our dish addiction naturally. And it never fails that when we are setting a table for our blogs, we always mention Mom. Sadly, even though you are not with us anymore, Mom, this table is for you.........thank you for instilling in us the passion to love dishes. After all these years, I still miss you.
Pat set the table using Schumann "Mandarin" - oddly, this pattern was produced with a small butterfly on it and then again without it.

Flatware is matte finish gold "Kyoto" by Holister

You can see the pale butterfly on this version.

The apricot chargers were painted this color to coordinate with the apricot flowers on the plates

From the other end of the table
Where it came from:
Reversible Slate Gray Placemats - from Tuesday Morning last year
Chargers - Inexpensive lacquer chargers from Michael's spray painted with plastic adhesive spray paint and then hand painted in coordinating apricot
Dinnerware - "Mandarin" by Schumann from the Discovery Shop and Replacements.com
Glassware - from Pier 1 two or three years ago
Napkins - Handmade by Pat to match the placemats
Silk Roses - from Michael's
"Bud Vases" - glassware from Pier 1
Candles - from Pier 1
Candle Holder - from Pat's collection

  3. How clever to paint the chargers a custom color. Apricot and gray is a pleasant color combination. I like using the vintage candle holder in the center flanked by bud vases on each side for your centerpiece.
    Happy Mother's Day.
