St. Patrick's Day Table 2015

"It was the biggest mix-up that you have ever seen...." words from the song Orange and Green by the late, great Jimmy Ferguson of the Irish Rovers say it all for this week's St. Patrick's Day table. Yes, like the song, our household was just that - our Father, he was Protestant, our Mother, she was Catholic. And we all love that song to this day.....( ). So - here's our version of "that awful color problem of the orange and the green" in a tablescape.
Mom would be happy - the "Green" at the head of the table.....

One of the place settings

Flatware is simple "Image" by Spode

Pat used a square fold to add more color to the place setting

The chargers are "Color Mood" by J.D. Durand (Cris d'Arques)

Flower vases are green and orange (Mom would be especially proud - two green ones....)

From the other end of the table
Where it came from:

  1. Hi Pat and Katie, Your table is so pretty that no one sitting there could be unhappy--whether they favored the green or the orange! I just read that the white on the Irish flag was meant to symbolize the peace between the green and orange populations! So all your white touches are perfect! Linda

  2. What a great table! Full of color and designed so cutely! I like that you included all the colors! My family was so boring- no locking heads about the religious side on that day (not Irish) Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

  3. Hi, Pat and Katie, Love your table: especially the centerpiece flowers and the green chargers! So cleverly done: neither side could complain! Well done and you keep family peace as well. Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

  4. I love your green and orange glasses, dishes and vases! Along with the white tablecloth hey really make your tablescape look very Irish flag colorful!

  5. What fun and such a clever way to honor both of your parents!, I think those chargers are wonderful and I am always charmed by an Irish beer! I hope both families enjoy St. Patrick's Day this year!

  6. Wonderful that centerpiece!

  7. So I guess there was no singing the Wearin' of the Green in your house, LOL! My best friend at college was 100% Polish. Every ST. Pat's Day she would dress in orange from head to foot. Yes, she had red hair! Funny thing is, she married a Murphy, so I got the last laugh! Thanks for joining in the St. Patrick's Blog Crawl!

  8. Very festive SPD the mixing of white, orange and green to represent the Irish flag. The chargers are gorgeous, such vibrant colors.
    Wishing you a great week!

  9. Lol! This is one clever table and the perfect way to keep peace in the family! It's such a cheerful table! Just keep that Irish beer flowing!
