Oktoberest Tablescape

Better late than never.......we almost missed Oktoberfest - the most famous beer festival in the world. But we finally got the table done. Naturally, Pat and I couldn't use the traditional blue and white color theme. We decided to go with the colors of the German flag (especially since we had more dishes in that color scheme.) And we only used a beer mug for glassware - a big change for us.

Over view of the table.

Close up of the place setting.

Pat used European-style flatware that goes perfectly with the setting.

Just one of the beer steins.

An inexpensive glass beer mug holds the black and red napkins.

The black bowl is Fun Factory by Waechtersbach. It sits on a black bread and butter plate by Fiestaware.

This is really a bright, cheery sunshine yellow plate from Fiestaware. No matter what I did, it looked faded out in the picture.

The bold red dinner plate is also from Waechtersbach.

The black charger is Color Spectrum from Mikasa.

Waechtersbach does not make bread and butter plates in this bold red - so we used Scarlet Fiestaware.

Look at the gorgeous flatware. We got it at Bed, Bath and Beyond for a steal.....

Yellow, black, and red are colors of the flag. The tablecloth is actually a very neutral beige color.

Just one of the cute nutcrackers used to decorate the table.

One last look.
