First of the Season Springtime Tablescape

Finally, the sun is out - the gray skies are gone and the wind is mild. What a treat. So Pat decided to set this week's table featuring signs of Spring using a set of accent plates by Gibson that we found years ago at Tuesday Morning. She mixed them with assorted Fiesta(ware) to bring out more color.

Pat used "Peacock," "Scarlett," "Rose," and "Mulberry" Fiesta(ware) matching the accent plates

The light gray chargers are inexpensive thrifted plastic chargers spray painted to match

Academy Awards Tablescape 2026

The 2026 Academy Awards Ceremony takes place on March 15th and no surprise, I intend to miss it as I do every year. But it is a great excuse to have fun setting a formal table. Pat hauled out mirrored place mats, jeweled candle holders and the Royal Doulton [minus the hand-painted periwinkles] dinnerware (sorry, only Hyacinth Bucket fans - pronounced "Bouquet" - will understand the cultural reference) for the occasion.

Where it came from:
Rectangular Mirrors - from Michael's years ago

Dinnerware - "Baronet" by Royal Doulton also from eBay and Replacements, Ltd.

Stormy Seas Tablescape

With "severe weather alerts" of rain, gusts of wind, and flood watches along the true northern coast of California this morning (Google says it's 271 miles and 5 hours, 40 minutes north of San Francisco), Pat decided to set the weekly blog table using dishes from American Atelier's "Signals" dinnerware of various lighthouse scenes as inspiration.

Spilt Rock Lighthouse sits on a cliff on the shore of Lake Superior

The mango wood chargers are from World Market years ago

Glassware is "Picardy" from Pier 1

Pat used these decorative chunks of wood roots as part of the centerpiece because they reminded her of the cliff where the Spilt Rock Lighthouse located on Lake Superior sits

Where it came from:
Light Steel Blue Place Mats and Matching Napkins - from Pier 1 ten or more years ago
Mango Wood Chargers - from World Market at least twelve years ago
Dinnerware - "Signals" by American Atelier from eBay, Replacements,Ltd, and local antique stores

Getting Through Winter Storms Tablescape

Hail, rain, wind, and bitter cold have been greeting us on the north coast of California for the past few days making venturing outside  a very undesirable and "wet" experience. So staying inside is the only option for now. Pat set this week's table to celebrate friends and family coming together to share time, fun, and food while the wind outside howls and the rain keeps coming down.

Pat provided each place setting with a bowl of popcorn to snack on later while playing cards.
