Nostalgic Autumn September Song Tablescape

The simple but elegant coupe shape of Sango's "September Song" doesn't appeal to everyone, but this dinnerware has sentimental value to Pat and me. It belonged to our Mother who purchased it nearly fifty years ago. At the time, it was her "good" china and not used much. (We always had lots of company over for dinner, but Mom chose to use her "heavy-duty" restaurant ware. It could take a beating....) Over the years, pieces have been broken or lost - so what remains is priceless to us.

Since it is September, time to pull out our Mom's china and give it a more updated look....

Pat paired the thin, delicate coupe shape of the dinnerware with Noritake's heavier "Iron Brown" ceramic handled flatware

To give the porcelain dinnerware a more casual look, Pat used these green chargers from Pier 1 Imports

Pat's "go to" inexpensive, simple glassware - from the Dollar Tree

The brown centerpiece is an inexpensive clear vase from a thrift store that has been spray painted.

One of the remaining pieces - the covered vegetable bowl

Where it came from:
Place Mats and Green Charger - from Pier 1 Imports two years ago
Dinnerware - "September Song" by Sango from our Mother
Flatware - "Iron Brown" by Noritake from Walsh's (a local wedding and gift store long out of business)
Glassware - from the Dollar Tree (still available)
Napkins - from Pier 1 Imports last year
Candle Holders and "Greenery" - from Michael's two or three years ago
Candles - from Ross Dress [and Set Your Table] For Less

  2. Lovely table, Ladies. I love how you've coordinated the colors and delicate pattern of those dancing cattails. You've honored your Mom's china beautifully.

  3. What a lovely table for this "in between" time where we're transitioning from summer but it's not quite fall yet.
