Christmas Eve Tablescape

Local folks are ecstatic - the crab fishermen settled on a price and there is crab aplenty for Humboldt County residents' traditional Christmas Eve meal:  crab, crusty sourdough bread, and lots of beer. Our county is fortunate enough to have a fabulous local sourdough bread (our area has San Francisco's famous sourdough making climate.) Now, those of us [me] "more informed" and "environmentally conscious" [i.e. vegetarian] will be having a tofu burrito with black beans, cilantro,  and homemade salsa...yummy........either way, we will be enjoying family and friends together.

Here's the table Pat designed for the event:

The place setting - Pat boiled and scrubbed the shells. Like all tablescapers, she will do what it takes to make the table "just right."

Santa

Flatware is "Everyday" by Reed & Barton - very sleek and simple

The dinner plate is vintage cobalt blue Fiesta - it's a little lighter than the "new" Cobalt and matches Santa's outfit perfectly

Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer was chosen for the color of the label - not the flavor

Naturally, Pat had to use Crab napkin rings
