St. Patrick's Day Tablescape

This is so exciting for us! We are finally participating in Cuisine Kathleen's annual (this is the 5th) St. Patrick's Day Blog Crawl Wednesday night. Pat and I have ooo'd and awwww'd for a long time over all of the tables that we have seen the past few years. What talent. What creativity. And best of all - what a wonderful thing to share it with all of us. So, first of all, thank you to everyone who gives us such inspiration. And thank you to everyone who has been so generous in helping all of us aspiring tablescapers.

Now - business over - onto this week's table. Pat wanted to mix vintage and new and also not use the typical shamrock green color to set the table this week. She started with our very old Haviland Clover Leaf dishware. She mixed it with avocado colored placemats and napkins, inexpensive Dollar Store glassware, and Depressionware candle holders. Mix that with Pier 1, Target, Tuesday Morning, and Michael's "stuff" and (I think) you have a really nice contemporary St. Patrick's Day table.
Over view of the table

The place setting

Pat started with avocado green placemats

She topped them with a white vintage placemat

Dinner plate from Haviland is only 9 1/2" across

Next layer is actually a Haviland Clover Leaf Luncheon plate (8 1/4" across)

Pat wanted to use a simple flatware pattern. She chose King James Silverplate by Oneida

Close up of the plate detail

Pat chose the very popular Dollar Store green glassware and put a Pier 1 Amber Crackle Wine glass with it

The vintage napkin detail matches the placemat

The napkin ring is from Pier 1

The five piece place setting - King James by Oneida silverplate
Pat was afraid that these candle holders were too big - I think they are perfect!

Pat made the centerpiece flower arrangement in a large Clover Leaf serving bowl

She made two little companion arrangements in Clover Leaf gravy boats

The bone dishes will be filled with mints and nuts

One last look from the other end of the table
