Fun Autumn Table

Pat and I were at Pier 1 a few weeks ago (and several times after that if the truth be told....) where we spotted this season's "Park Avenue Puppies" that we just "had to have." We couldn't wait to use them.

Pat started with a burlap tablecloth

Flatware is the very popular "Treble Clef" by Gourmet Settings

A bit of an odd color, the dinner plate ("Martillo Almond" from Pier 1 Imports) is truly a "work horse" for tablescaping - the color blends well with many accent plates

The stemmed goblets with their lines reminded Pat of pumpkins

From the other end of the table

Burlap Tablecloth - from Linentablecloth.com (a neat internet store that sells inexpensive tablescaping and wedding supplies)

Green Chargers - from Pier 1 Imports two or three years ago

Dinner Plates - "Martillo Almond" from Pier 1 three years ago

Accent Plates - "Park Avenue Puppies" (2018) from Pier 1 two months ago

Flatware - "Treble Clef" by Gourmet Settings from Bed, Bath, and Beyond four years ago

Bread/Butter Plates - "Poppy" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com

Guest Tablescape

While Pat was away attending a conference with her daughter, I coerced our wonderful cousin (one that suffers from the same dish "affliction" as Pat and me) to come over and set this week's table. Not only did he bring all of the tablescaping "supplies," he gave me a day filled with laughter, fun and "tales" of his dish addiction escapades over the years. I had a ball....and got a beautiful table.....

Trev started with an antique lace tablecloth (which has quite a history. It was made from curtains found in the Sumner and Amelia Carson's Victorian mansion. They were part of  a wealthy, local lumber family whose grand home was disgracefully torn down to build a more modern building - thus the over 100 year old curtains were sold at auction.)   

Trev layered the lace cloth on top of a plain white tablecloth

The gorgeous dinner plates are by Franconia-Krautheim (only a pattern number available: FR97)

The sterling silver flatware is "Grand Colonial" by Wallace Silver Company. (This is same pattern that Trev generously  gave to Pat and me a few years back.)

The heavy chargers are from Gumps of San Francisco - purchased over thirty years ago

There are a few stains but the tablecloth remains in pretty good shape

The salt cellars are by Lenox. Of course, Trev added a tiny "Grand Colonial" salt spoon.

The water goblet is "Lismore" by Waterford

Trev found the sterling silver Epergne at the Loleta Antique Show several years ago (the local antique show has dozens of vendors from all over the United States and is held once a year.)
