Pre-Marathon Run Tablescape

Pat's daughter, Jennifer, was home for the weekend to join her Mother in the 43rd annual Avenue of the Giants Marathon Run (run through Humboldt Redwoods State Park) this Sunday. Both love to participate in the marathon run - especially since it is held in one of the most amazing and beautiful places in the world.

In addition to running a marathon, performing medical attention and care (Jennifer who is a doctor removed Pat's stitches from her finger where Pat and a large French knife recently battled and the tip of Pat's finger lost....), Jennifer joined us to set a table for this week. A very busy girl.....Anyway, she selected the napkin as the starting point and went from there:

The inspiration napkin (wrapped around a hot pink napkin and held by two napkin rings in matching colors)

Jennifer loves Fiesta by Homer Laughlin - so you can always be assured any table she does will use it

This is a Rose Luncheon plate

She used a Lemongrass colored Dinner plate

The other things that Jennifer loves when she tablescapes are Maryland China Company chargers and white "Primary" Noritake ceramic flatware - so you can expect to see them too.

Glassware is "Bayonne" from Pier 1. The stems match the centerpiece candle holders.

To add a little interest, Jennifer used the Maryland China Company coasters

Simple PVC pipe cut into 1" rounds and spray painted lime and hot pink act as the napkin ring

The candle holders have colored mesh netting stuffed into the stems to add more color

Cinco de Mayo Table

Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner, and Pat decided to celebrate the day with a very colorful, festive tablescape.

The rustic flatware is "Montana" by Gourmet Settings - the black handles coordinate with the black soup bowl

Pat chose inexpensive glassware from the Dollar Store because of the substantial stem

The succulent-like napkin ring is from Pier 1

Next layer is a bright red salad plate from Waechtersbach

The Dinner plate is a bright yellow "Fun Factory" plate also by Waechterbach

The charger is an inexpensive lacquer charger spray painted orange

The centerpiece is a very unusual candle/flower holder that Pat found at a thrift store and spray painted black. She made two arrangements in large square bowls (that matched the soup bowl) to go on each side.
