Pat set this week's table with a set of dinnerware that we haven't used before. It is a charming English transferware pattern made by J & G Meakin, "Avondale" was produced in at least four different colors - ours is the green version. Not as popular as the blue version or as widely available, it is sweet and easy to mix with other patterns.
With Spring just around the corner, Pat used bright yellow and white daffodils for the centerpieceAlthough we used it last week, Pat chose our Mother's silverplate flatware for this week's table - "King James" by Oneida
The white dinnerware is "Racine" by Hutschenreuther - this is the luncheon plate
These Dollar Tree goblets should be part of every tablescaper's repertoire - they are inexpensive and really versatile. Best of all, if they break, they are easily and cheaply replaceable.
Although we didn't use them, I wanted to show the unique shape of the salt and pepper shakers
The vintage candle holders are by Abingdon Pottery (1908-1950)
One last look from the other end of the table
Where it came from:
Sage Green Place Mats - from Pier 1 several years ago
Off-white Napkins - from Tuesday Morning two or three years ago
Green Dinnerware - "Avondale" by J & G Meakin from anywhere we can find it (eBay, Replacements.com, antique stores, etc.)
White Dinnerware - "Racine" by Hutschenreuther from eBay and Replacements.com
Flatware - "King James" by Oneida from our Mother's collection
Glassware - from the Dollar Tree years ago (but still available)
Small White Pitchers - by 10 Strawberry Street from TJMaxx four or five years ago
Vintage White Candle Holders - by Abingdon Potteries from our collection
Yellow Candles - from the Ferndale Mercantile Store (a local shop that sells all kinds of neat things)
This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch: http://betweennapsontheporch.net/
How pretty! I have a couple of pieces of green transferware and I love it. To see a whole table filled with it is just delightful. And the daffodils are so cheery and spring-y. I am happy to see spring arriving!
