Crab Season (Finally) Starts Tablescape

Crab season has started after two months of delays - bad weather, under weight issues, COVID-19 crisis, and price disparity to name a few problems. So Pat decided to celebrate by setting this week's table getting ready for the first available catch.  (As a vegetarian for almost fifty years and a plant based vegan for the last four years, I will withhold any "social/ethical" comment on the table so that I do not offend those less informed...like my entire family....but that is another story for another time.....)
Pat used the net and charger from last week's table as a base for this week's table

The crab bowls  are from Pier 1
The red liner is a "Scarlet" Fiesta(ware) salad plate
Pat followed up with "White" Fiesta(ware)

The charger is "Royal Blue" Color Spectrum by Mikasa

I told Pat that I thought nobody drinks Pabst beer anymore - she didn't care - she wanted the red, white, and blue bottle

American Sweetheart Monax Tablescape

American Sweetheart Depression glass was produced from 1930 thru 1936 and comes in four or five  different colors. Pat chose to use our white set called "Monax" - it is slightly translucent and fragile looking but from the amount still available, it would seem that it is quite sturdy. (I always think that it has something to do with the fact that the company eventually became part of the Corning Glass Company which, as everyone knows, is synonymous for its tough, nearly unbreakable glassware.)

For this week, Pat used a variation of a nautical theme - while accenting the table and dinnerware with stainless steel.
Some people mistake "Monax" glass for milk glass - Milk glass is much thicker and whiter. "Monax" is translucent and more delicate looking.

We found the stainless steel starfish napkin rings at Tuesday Morning a few years ago
You can see the translucency of the dinnerware

The charger is Royal Blue "Color Spectrum" by Mikasa

I like to show the cup and saucer in a set of dinnerware - this one has slightly scalloped edges on the saucer and the traditional floral design on both the cup and saucer
Glassware is modern looking "Reflection" by Imperial Glass Company
Pat threw a fish net across the table and then used three lanterns as the centerpiece

Casual Mikasa Silk Flowers Tablescape

Pandemic. Pandemonium. Perfidiousness. Prevarication. Presidents.....What a week this has been - no matter what "side" you are on. It's been a wild ride outside.....Pat just wanted to set an easy, casual table that made her feel good to look at and to feel calm and safe. She chose Mikasa"s "Silk Flowers" (a set of dishes for ten that we got at the ridiculously low price of $10 at the Cancer Society's thrift shop a few years ago) and went to work.
Pat mixed pink and teal (using the colors from the dinnerware) and a rustic place mat to add interest

Serenity Tablescape

With everything as crazy as it is around us (Presidents, politics, pandemic....to name a few,) Pat decided to set a very "serene" table this week to take the edge off a very weird first week of the new year. She used an old, simple Noritake pattern (no name - just number 5248) and added jade and gold.
Very simple, very serene, the table gives off an Oriental feel
