Tax Time Tablescape

Even though the tax filing deadline has been extended due to the Coronavirus, Pat wanted to set a table to acknowledge Uncle Sam's annual mission to shed us of our money (like I told you before, she has a wicked sense of humor....) This year, she used place mats made from IRS tax forms and decoupage and then clear dinnerware. It made for a fun table!

Flatware is Black "Decision" Primastone by Noritake

The dinnerware is "Milano" by Pasabahce

The glassware was from Pier 1 years ago

A close-up of the place mat

Pat used "money bandanas" from Michael's as napkins

We bought several money bags from eBay years ago when I retired. Pat set my retirement dinner table with the theme "Living Off the Public Dole" -  am I the only one with a sister like that???

One last look from the other end of the table

Easter Is On the Way Tablescape

Here in California, the Governor has mandated "stay at home" rules for the entire State as of this week. Residents of Humboldt County have been very diligent to follow that directive. So, here I sit in front of the computer, in a house that sits on one of the busiest streets in town (normally), two blocks from the once noisy High School (of over 2000 students), a grammar school - this one a private church school - on the next block, three other churches within two blocks, an apartment building complex across the street, and not a soul in sight. Maybe a car goes by every four or five minutes - maybe....And it is quiet. Very quiet.....Eerie.....

Anyway, back to tablescaping. This week, Pat's daughter came up with the place setting (while she was here a few weeks ago.) It is bright and cheerful which is what we need now.

Bordallo Cabbage St. Patrick's Day Tablescape

Pat had company this week as she set the table - our cousin Trev was here, and as some of you already know, he has the same dish addiction as many of the other members of our family do. Since one of his favorite sets of dinnerware is Bordallo Pinheiro "Cabbage,"  Pat and he decided to set the table featuring it.

Some people are bothered by the "natural" coloration of the flatware - no two pieces are the same color - but I like it

This is the dinner plate

Pat and Trev used two chargers  for the place setting

Not a fan favorite for Pat but the "distressed" charger from Pier 1 looks great with "Cabbage" dinnerware

The glassware is "Espresso" by Lenox
