The Moose is Loose Table

This week's table is just for fun. Pat used dinnerware that we bought years ago when Kohl's first opened in our area. We haven't used it on this blog in a long time.  I'm not a big fan of square dishes, but Pat loves them. (She loves straight lines - her garden beds are straight, her quilts are straight designs, her furniture has straight lines - everything including Pat is straight up and down. Me? I'm round. My flower beds curve, my furniture bends, everything, including the pets, are "circular.")

Anyway, here's the table for this week:
To me, this is the perfect wintertime tablescape. The dinnerware is massive and heavy -just right for a hearty meal.

Pat used copper flatware and water goblets for a more rustic look.

To add more "weight," Pat used a heavy ceramic tile as a charger

From the other end of the table
Where it came from:
Plaid Place Mats - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond several years ago
Ceramic Tiles - from Pierson's Building Supply (a local building and hardware store)
Dinnerware - "Winter Cabin" by St. Nicholas Square for Kohl's purchased several years ago
Flatware - from Horchow's (mail order) three years ago
Copper Water Goblets - from Pier 1 last year
Brown Napkins - Handmade by Pat
Lanterns - from Michael's three or four years ago
Votive Holders - actually napkin rings from Bed, Bath, and Beyond three or four years ago
Wooden Centerpiece Bowl - from Pier 1 this year
Small Copper Metallic Balls - from Pier 1 two years ago

We will be joining the following Blog parties this week:
"Dishing It! & Digging It!" at Rustic & Refined this Sunday:  http://www.rustic-refined.com/
"Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

  1. I love everything about this table! The colors are perfect, the copper flatware and goblet are gorgeous, and I wish I owned those dishes. I like to decorate with pinecones, and the use of the rustic napkin rings as tea light holders is sheer genius. ( Just one thing - the ungulate on the plate is a deer or elk, not a moose!) I so look forward to your tables every week, because I never know what the two of you will come up with next!

  6. I really do like this table! I love the ceramic tiles as chargers: they add so much to the look. It is a rustic table, yet very sophisticated in its simplicity. Bravo, Ladies!! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch
    P. S. I see you're able to link up to the Rustic-Refined website to participate in Dishing It! and Digging It! I used to link up to that, but have not be able to because Christine doesn't link up to emails anymore. I would appreciate any help you could give me to explain how you link up to her website, as I'd like to participate in that link party. My email address is rosieemoreno@verizon.net. Thanks for your help!

  9. A great winter table. It looks rustic, warm, and cozy. I like that the plates don't "scream" wildlife but are more subtle.

  10. This is a fun place with a two-faced appeal. The top floor of New York venues is for all that sass and oomph. It was super packed, but we just wanted to check it out. Loved the solid selection of quality craft beers.
