Easter "Spectacles"

Pat recently purchased several sets of Easter accent plates from Pier 1 to use for a Christmas dinner for the local Lions Club that she and her husband host every year (yes, a little weird but when you see the dishes, you'll understand the significance.) Anyway, she wanted to use them now - as a "trial run" to see how they would look.

The Easter "Spectacle" table - as you know, the Lions Club supports projects that prevent blindness, improve eyesight, and provide eye care for millions of people throughout the world. Pat is right - these will be great plates for the local Lions Club annual Christmas party.

The dinner plate is also from Pier 1 - "Ginger" Spice Route stoneware. My very favorite person in the world from Pier 1,

Raelene, showed me how versatile this plate was and what could be done with it. We have used over and over again. Every time we use it, I think of her (and how much I miss her.)

Pat "shoved" a napkin into a wooden napkin ring and then placed a small rustic bunny ornament in front

Although Pier 1 sold a bunny with glasses, all of our glasses were handmade by Pat's husband. This bunny is from TJMaxx.

Rustic Easter Table

Since this is our second Easter table this season, Pat wanted to try something different from the last one. She thought a rustic table would be fun. She chose the very popular "Bunny" plates from Pier 1 and put a different slant on them.

The table (shown here with clear glassware. At the end are pictures with colored glassware to change it a bit.)

The place setting uses a rustic twig placemat and a very heavy charger. 

Flatware is "Montana" by Gourmet settings - Pat chose it because of the "twig-like" handles

Pat and I got a deal on these chargers -  fifty cents each at the Cancer Society's "Discovery Shop" thrift store on sale.

To dress up the table a bit, Pat used  inexpensive stemmed glasses (from the Dollar Store)

The clear glasses were replaced with a dark red tumbler and an olive green wine glass. I love the color but it does tend to "darken" the table a bit.

Orange Dots Easter Tablescape

Ever have one of those "senior moments" when the name of something is on the tip of your tongue but you can't remember it no matter what??? Well, it happened to Pat the other day. She was describing a tablescape that she had in mind but couldn't remember the name of the dish pattern - so she said to me, "You know, the one with the orange dots...." Uh, what? What orange dots, Pat? Well, here is the table - along with the dishes with the orange dots (turns out she meant the gorgeous Lenox Rutledge dinnerware with the beautiful fluted rim and yes, it does have some orange dots - albeit very small ones....only my sister would reference the orange dots when thinking of this pattern. Gotta love her......)

Although not technically for votives, these egg holders work perfect
