Springtime Lime Tablescape

Yessss!!! We will be joining Cuisine Kathleen's "Let's Dish" Springtime tablescape blog party this week (http://www.cuisinekathleen.com/.) Her part of the country is experiencing cold, frosty weather - sorry, Kathleen, but we live in California.....the sun is shining. The weather is warm. Flowers are blooming. For now at least..... we have no water but we do have sun. (Remember - the crummy drought - rainfall is less than 40% of normal, but we do have sun - and wild fires already and insect/snail infestation and potential water rationing soon but we do have sun.......)

Anyway, here's the table Pat came up with:
Overview of the table

Close up of the place setting (I did take the label off the candle eventually.....)

Flatware is ceramic handle "Primary" by Noritake

First layer of the place setting is an inexpensive lime green bowl from the Dollar Store

The soup liner is a white Fiesta salad plate by Homer Laughlin

Purchased at Kohl's, this Lemongrass Fiesta Luncheon plate does not have the signature rim - no one has been able to tell me why.

The dinner plate was a great buy on eBay - "Valerie" by Portmeirion

Another great buy, but this time from Replacements.com. The apple green charger is "Color Moods" by Luminarc/Cris d'Arques.

Glassware is "Fedora" by Spiegelau (1985-2001)

Pat used these simply knot-like napkin rings to hold the white and lime green napkins

The centerpiece was simple daffodils in large white vases with an assortment of lime green candles

The ceramic candle liners match the dinner plate (they are actually coasters)

See, I really did remove the labels......

One last look from the other end of the table

  1. I love, love, love this table! The lime green positively glows in your abundant sunshine (we have warm weather and occasional sun, but I think we have a lot of your rain -- way too much lately, and I wish I could send it your way!). Now I find myself wanting a set of dishware in lime green, although the last thing I need is another set of dishes!

  3. Who put the lime in the coconut? This table is full of citrus sunshine itself. We here in TX are still in a drought too. The spring weather has been nice with cooler temps and some cloudy, overcast days. This table reminds me of the wonderful green new growth on our trees and shrubs this time of year. Delightful!

  5. Gorgeous green!! So springy and it pops when mixed with the white! So many wonderful details to take in. I appreciated seeing each layer of the dish stack and knowing some were inexpensive and some were more pricey but they all worked wonderfully together. Would love to have seen a pic with the candles lit, especially one in the evening - I'll bet it looks breathtaking!

  15. Wonder if your Fiesta luncheon plates are actually the Buffet plates. They were created by HLC for the health care industry and are shaped to hold a food cover or dome. Lovely tables capes!
