Queen's Quintessential Game Tablescape

October marks the opening of Duck Season (as a vegan, I will refrain from my usual tirade about the senseless and highly unnecessary killing of a living creature for "fun" - please don't give me the "argument" about food for the table - most of the time the animal is blown apart but that's another story for another time.) My meat-eating sister Pat wanted to mark the occasion - the opening of duck season, that is, - by featuring her set of Queen's "Quintessential Game" dinnerware for this week's blog.
Must admit - I do love the table but not the theme....oops. I feel another vegan diatribe coming on...better stop now. My apologies.

Flatware is Italian "Brown Roma" by Domus & Design

The first charger is a "Paprika" Fiesta(ware) Chop plate
We bought these ornate chargers from Pier 1 nine or ten years ago
Glassware is "Brown Clarion" by Lenox

Where it came from:
Sage Green Place Mats and Napkin - From Bed, Bath, and Beyond many years ago
Wooden Charger - From Pier 1 about ten years ago
Second Charger and Matching Bread and Butter Plate - Paprika "Fiesta(ware)" Chop Plate by Homer Laughlin from Replacements,Ltd. (The Bread and Butter plate is actually an appetizer plate. Much to my dismay, Homer Laughlin discontinued making bread and butter plates several years ago.)
Dinnerware - "Quintessential Game" [Mallard] by Queen's from Tuesday Morning eight years ago
Glassware - "Clarion Brown" (1977-1983) by Lenox from a local store long out of business
Flatware -  "Brown Roma" by Domus and Design from Horchow five or more years ago
Gold Rock Napkin Rings - from Pier 1 many years ago
Centerpiece Bowl - Paprika "Fiesta(ware) Vegetable Bowl by Homer Laughlin from TJMaxx years ago
Candles and Candle Holders - from Michael's
Ceramic Duck - from our collection

This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/
