Mikasa Silk Flowers Luncheon Tablescape

Nearly ten years ago, Pat and I were out "thrifting" and found this week's highlighted set of dishes at the Cancer Society's Discovery Thrift Shop. They were $10.80 (with tax) and then discounted since it was "Senior Day." Not bad for an entire set of dinnerware plus several extra pieces. The plan at that time was to buy them, use them, and then donate them back to the thrift store. Well, Pat bought them, used them but never brought them back.....my fault, I admit. I actually fell in love with the pattern and the quality of the dishes and the fact that they really look good on the table. So this week's table once again features our cheap dishes with thrifted Fiesta(ware) accents in a luncheon setting.

Flatware is "Addison" by Mikasa. It's sleek, shiny and  feels really good in your hand

Glassware is "Sensa" by Schott Zwiesel from our much missed local Pier 1

Pat placed a matching Mikasa tea pot and sugar/creamer on a small "Rose" Fiesta(ware" pizza tray. She used a Fiesta(ware) coffee pot at the other end of the table (since our ten dollar bargin did not include a matching coffee pot.

Where it came from:
Hemstitched Place Mats and Matching Napkins - from Tuesday Morning five or six years ago
Dinnerware - Mikasa "Silk Flowers" from the Discovery Thrift Store nine or ten years ago
Bread and Butter Plate - "Rose" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Replacements,Ltd.
Flatware - "Addison" by Mikasa from Costco two or three years ago
Glassware - "Sensa" by Schott Zwiesel from Pier 1 Imports four years ago
Various Pink Accents and Napkin Rings - "Rose" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from a local antique store going out of business (everything was at least half off)

This week, we will be joining "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

  2. Love those colors, and I agree with Janet, I can see why you wanted to keep the set! It pairs beautifully with the pink Fiestaware and your gorgeous centerpiece. Nice job ladies!
