Rustic Fall Basket Tablescape

I've said it before but Autumn is not my favorite season - no particular reason, I guess. Pat, on the other hand, loves it. She loves the weather, the color variations, the falling leaves - everything about it. And she can come up with a table design in no time flat if it is Autumn-themed. She spotted a large, rustic basket in my garage the other day, and that was the beginning......
Once Pat picked the basket, she knew "Friendly Village" by Johnson Brothers was the perfect set of dishes to use

Here is the table with matching dark red candles - Pat originally used a light brown candle, but she didn't like it as much

Flatware is "San Remo" by Hampton Forge (one of Pat's latest "acquisitions" - you see, we both has a "dish/accessory" problem.....)

Here's the table with light brown candles -it's OK but does not have enough color

Where it came from:
Rustic Placemats - from Bed, Bath and Beyond
Chinese Red Lacquer Chargers - Inexpensive chargers on sale at Michael's and spray painted by Pat's husband
Dishes - Autumn "Friendly Village" by Johnson Brothers from our Mother and Replacements (after several earthquakes)
Flatware - Red "San Remo" by Hampton Forge from Tuesday Morning
Glassware - Inexpensive Dollar Store water and wine glasses
Off White Napkins - Handmade by Pat
Greenery - from Michael's
Vegetables, Pumpkins, Etc. - Grown by Pat and her Husband
Wooden Candle Holders - Pier 1 and Michael's
Dark Red Candles - from Ross

  1. Hi Ladies, You are right -- the brighter candles make such a difference on this table. Friendly Village is such an interesting pattern with the different scenes on each piece. I would like to live in that village! And it was very clever of you to spray paint the chargers to match the beautiful new flatware! This would be a most welcoming table. Linda
