Annual Cancer Survivor's Table

The 2015 Annual Cancer Society's Relay For Life is next week - so, it is time for Pat to do her yearly Survivor's Table to commemorate the courageous people battling this horrific disease. [Each year, Pat and her husband spend the entire weekend working at the event - doing everything and anything they can to make the Relay a success after spending hours the previous year volunteering with dozens of other people to set it up.]
The table - of course, done in purple (the signature color of all Cancer Survivors everywhere) and white

The place setting

Flatware is "Musee" by Reed & Barton

The white dinnerware is a mix of inexpensive "Whiteware" from Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond

I found these wicker-like placemats on sale at Pier 1 years ago for less than a dollar each - no one wanted them because they were in a very ugly color, but I saw the potential (and power of spray paint.....) We've used them before in different colors.

I love these candle holders (from Abingdon Potteries) but, as you see, you have to use a gallon of candle wax to get the candle to stay upright....

Pat periodically hits the thrift shops for inexpensive clear vases - then her husband spray paints them in assorted colors for us

From the other end of the table

Where it came from:
Wicker Placemats - Pier 1 years ago spray painted
White Dinnerware - from Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond
Flatware - "Musee" by Reed & Barton from Horchow's
Purple Napkin - Handmade by Pat to match the placemat
Purple Glasses and Sherbets - "Viva" by Cristar from TJMaxx and Ross
Clear Wine Glasses - "Entertain" from Bed, Bath, and Beyond
Vases - Clear, inexpensive vases from Thrift stores spray painted with white, glass adhesive paint
Candles - Purple "Northern Lights" candles from the Ferndale Emporium
Silk Flowers - Michael's
Candle Holders - by Abingdon Potteries from eBay (1934-1950)

We will be joining Christine's "Table It!" at Rustic & Refined this Monday:  http://www.rustic-refined.com/
We will also be joining Susan for "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch:  http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

Here in California, we are on water rationing (mandated to reduce by 25% in most areas.) Pat made fun of my lavender lawn to cover the brown grass.......
