Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Tablescape

Pat has been talking about doing a series of "travel theme" tablescapes for a long time. She thought it would be fun to set a table with a destination in mind - not every week but once in a while. So, she came up with the idea of our version of Carmen Sandiego - the award winning child's detective who travelled the world to solve crimes - as the starting point. Of course, Pat had to put her "spin" on Carmen who now looks at lot like Betty Boop.

But you get the idea.....here's our first table. It is Carmen's Bon Voyage party - complete with "Carmen" and her plane in the clouds.....
Over view of the table

The place setting - complete with a red rose to send Carmen off in style.....

Flatware is "King James" silverplate by Oneida

Pat chose the glasses because they went so well with the placemat

Here's our "adult" version of Carmen.....riding in the clouds

Nothing but the best for Carmen's Bon Voyage party - crystal napkin rings

I even took this plate outside trying to get a clear, clean picture - and I polished the plate with Windex, ammonia, and alcohol but to no avail.....It still looks like it has lint. Black is a killer to photograph.

The dinner and salad plates are "Fun Factory" by Waechtersbach

Pat's favorite charger - a simple coupe by Bernardaud

Pat made small flower arrangements from silk roses to decorate the table

The silk flower arrangements in crystal vases flank each side of Carmen in the clouds (Pat used a white window sheer to make the clouds)

One last look from the other end of the table
Bon Voyage, Carmen!!!!
