International Children's Book Day and Easter Table

Once again, Pat decided to combine two table themes into one - International Children's Book Day (which falls on April 2nd) and Easter (March 31st). It's among her favorite tablescaping themes and one she had done in the past for the blog.
International Children's Book Day is celebrated in our family to inspire the younger children to read and be exposed to all kinds of books. It sets them on the path to life long love of reading.
The centerpiece Easter Baskets are filled with books and a few "expected" Easter treats

The accent plate is "Easter Bunny" from Pier 1. It comes in both a male and female bunny (especially appropriate since almost everyone in our family wears glasses.)
Flatware is "Laila" stainless steel by Cambridge

Pat used a Fiesta(ware) "Paprika" luncheon plate and "Sunflower" dinner plate  by Homer Laughlin

Scattered around the table and in the Easter Baskets are leftover Harry Potter glasses

Happy Easter Sofie Tablescape

Pier 1 produced the "Sofie the Bunny" pattern from 2015 through 2019 - we instantly fell in love with it and quickly added it to our Easter dish repertoire [very fancy word for our haphazard storage shelves jammed with assorted bunny and egg-shaped plates.] Pat decided to use "Sofie" for this week's Easter tablescape.  Here's what she came up with:
Starting with a textured brown place mat, Pat used mango wood chargers to continue the more rustic look.

Flatware is "Vault" by Gourmet Settings

Pier 1 produced the dinner plate with and without a bunny in the center

Glassware is simple "Classic Mocha" by Libby

Bordallo Cabbage Easter Tablescape

Easter is fastly approaching and it's time to set another bunny-themed tablescape. Somehow using Bordallo Pinheiro "Cabbage" seems the likely choice to use for dinnerware. Pat paired it with an accent plate from Pier 1 to create this week's table.

Flatware is Noritake's "Iron Brown"
The accent plate is "Lilly" from Pier 1
The dinner plate is the iconic "Cabbage" by Bordallo Pinheiro

Easter Table #2

It's hard to believe as I look outside that Spring is close. We have been experiencing uncharacteristic freezing cold weather along with loads of rain and hail the last several days. Couple that with lots of wind and we have another "fun" time in the Redwoods. So it might seem a contradiction to set a sunny Easter table but it was just what we needed.

Flatware is "Pure" by Gourmet Settings - neat to look at but not very practical to use. The spread of the tines on the fork is too narrow and the spoon "bowl" is small and too deep - making them really hard to eat from.
The accent plates are part of a set that Pat bought from Pier 1
The dinner plate and matching bread and butter plate are "Perwinkle" Fiesta(ware)
The charger plate is actually a Depression ware Sandwich plate - Cremax Bordette by MacBeth-Evans Glass Company
Glassware is "Kara" from Pier 1

Where it came from:
Periwinkle Blue Place Mats - from a local Department store no longer in business
Yellow Chargers - "Cremax Bordette" Sandwich Plate by MacBeth-Evans Glass Company purchased from a local antique store
Dinner Plate and Matching Bread and Butter Plate - "Periwinkle" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Replacements, Ltd.
Accent Plates - "Easter Bunny" from Pier1 several years ago
Flatware - "Pure" by Gourmet Settings from Bed, Bath, and Beyond many years ago
Glassware - "Kara" from Pier1 many years ago
Sisal Bunny Napkin Rings - from Pier 1 six or seven years ago
Assorted Centerpiece Bunnies - from Pier 1 and TJMaxx
