Remembering Esther Tablescape

Esther the Wonder Pig has passed away as reported to her legion of fans around the world this week. She was eleven years old and left countless hearts broken over the news. In her life, she brought joy and wisdom to her millions of followers on social media. She raised awareness of animal cruelty in the meat-eating industry and the health benefits of vegetarianism. Along with her Dads, she "authored several best selling books and appeared in several documentaries and films in Canada, the United States, and England. I was one of her biggest fans.

Autumn Southwest Tablescape

Pat's daughter just returned from a conference in Arizona for women physicians and had some time to come over to the coast to visit her parents. While she was here, she stopped by to visit me and met her mother at my house. Naturally, we "engaged" her in some tablescaping. Since the hot, dry Southwest was still on her mind, the table reflects her time at the conference.
Taking color cues from the Southwest-style napkin, the dinnerware is various Fiesta(ware).

Pat's daughter started with a heavy, dark brown textured place mat to build the setting
Flatware is "Hammered Copper" by Hampton Forge
The Fiesta(ware) colors are: White, Chocolate, Flamingo, and Turquoise

The rustic glassware is from Pier 1

Autumn Sunflower Tablescape

Autumn is not my favorite season - as I have said before - but I don't generally pick the theme or color palette for the weekly table. It is, however, one of Pat's favorites so here we go with another Fall color scheme of rusts, golds, browns, and greens on a hearty, casual table set for dinner.

Queen's Quintessential Game Tablescape

October marks the opening of Duck Season (as a vegan, I will refrain from my usual tirade about the senseless and highly unnecessary killing of a living creature for "fun" - please don't give me the "argument" about food for the table - most of the time the animal is blown apart but that's another story for another time.) My meat-eating sister Pat wanted to mark the occasion - the opening of duck season, that is, - by featuring her set of Queen's "Quintessential Game" dinnerware for this week's blog.
Must admit - I do love the table but not the theme....oops. I feel another vegan diatribe coming on...better stop now. My apologies.
