Fiesta and Krautheim Tablescape

This week's table is a mix of formal and casual dinnerware hopefully making a pleasing and colorful tablescape to use. Pat mixed "Mulberry" and "Meadow" Fiesta with "Meadow Flowers" by Krautheim.
Although each plate has different flowers on it, there is a unifying light gray on all of them. That is why Pat used gray place mats and napkins.

President's Day Tablescape

President's Day falls on the third Monday in February. While most people think of it as a day to celebrate our first President's birthday (or possibly "throw in" our sixteenth since Lincoln's birthday fall in February), our family uses it to celebrate all Presidents - no matter what political affiliation. Family dinners have become quite a balancing act since we are politically divided (sadly, much more since 2016.) But it is an excuse to get together and as we get older, those times are getting rarer.

While Pat's daughter was here visiting last month, she came up with this week's table.
Of course, red, white and blue...and a little black to tie it all together

Flatware is "Castello" by Godinger
These individual soup tureens came from Pier 1's discount shelf. They only cost $.99 each.
Napkins are blue "Democrat" and red "Republican." The textured glassware reminded Pat of the hammered flatware. The pattern is "Frost" by Libby.
Our Mother's now very old soup tureen acted as the centerpiece.

Family Tablescaping Fun

Par's daughter was visiting this weekend to help celebrate her Mother's 76th birthday. Of course, she joined Par to "play" with dishes at my house for a while. This week's table was just one of many that she and Pat came up with. This one was inspired by the place mats that we found on sale at Bed, Bath, and Beyond last year.
