Shadow Iris Tablescape

I have to admit that I have never seen any tablescapes using Corelle dinnerware. Maybe I just missed them or possibly no one would ever admit to owning the wildly popular, inexpensive, and nearly unbreakable dishes. Well, Pat has to be different. She was given a set of "Shadow Iris" Corelle by Corning as a joke to see if she could come up with a place setting. She had to buy a few additional pieces to complete the set but accepted the challenge with enthusiasm. 

Using two chargers in bright colors, Pat brought some intensity to the pale iris on the plate

Flatware is sleek "Queensgate" by J. A. Henckels

The first charger is a "Meadow" Fiesta(ware) chop plate by Homer Laughlin

The bottom charger is an inexpensive lacquer charger spray painted purple in plastic adhesive spray paint to match the napkins

Glassware is "Sensa" by Scott-Zwiesel

Pat didn't use a cup and saucer but I wanted to show it

The simple centerpiece is composed of three small arrangements of silk flowers and candles

Noritake Desert Flowers Summer Tablescape

While most of the country is experiencing a little Summer rain once in a while - some parts are even undergoing major storms - we, here in California, once again, are suffering through another year of drought conditions. That means there is a possibility of water rationing, severe fire danger, power grid "safety" shutoffs, and extremely high temperatures up and down the state. This made Pat think about pulling out her vintage set of Noritake "Desert Flowers"  dinnerware that she purchased over 40 years ago. Seems like the perfect weather to set a table with them.....

The flatware is also vintage - "Iron Brown" by Noritake - it was my everyday pattern over 40 years ago

We found these unique place mats at a local antique and gift shop a few years ago

Glassware is "Clarion Brown" by Lenox. I have had this set since 1977 - with a few purchases from Replacements.com to replace two or three glasses. They are remarkable sturdy.

Edme Garden Club Summertime Tablescape

Sun shining, flowers blooming, and the smell of freshly mowed grass always makes us bring out the Edme "Garden Club" dinnerware to use for a tablescape. This time, Pat added lots of color to the place setting by using different colored chargers and matching bread and butter plates at each setting. 

Pat used Sage, Periwinkle, Claret, Sea Mist, Paprika, Lapis, Meadow, and Rose Chop Plates and matching Bread and Butter Plates (appetizer plates were substituted where Homer Laughlin stopped producing bread and butter plates in newer colors) at each place setting.

Fiestaware Springtime Tablescape

This week's table was inspired by the colorful Springtime napkins that Pat made several years ago. Pat's Fiesta(ware) loving daughter came up with the place setting while she was here visiting a few weeks ago and we couldn't resist setting the table with it this week.

Mixing Fiesta(ware) makes such a colorful table. Jennifer selected dish colors from the napkin.

We love to use the Maryland China charger with Fiesta(ware)

The salad plate is "Periwinkle" Fiesta(ware)

This is a "Sunflower" luncheon plate 

The dinner plate is "Rose" Fiesta(ware) . It is a discontinued pattern made from 1986 through2005.

The modern glassware is from Pier 1.
