Bordallo Geranium Table

Pat is not a big fan of Bordallo "Cabbage" - her favorite pattern by the famous Portuguese dishware designer/maker is "Geranium." Rural, isolated Humboldt County, California, where we live, is not a hot spot for purchasing this pattern (or any other dishware pattern for that matter....) So, if you ever see it anywhere, you buy it immediately. That's what Pat did when she spotted it at a local Western Auction/consignment store.

Calla Lilly Table

Have you ever had one of those days when you started to do a certain tablescape only to totally and completely wind up with something else? That's what happened to Pat and me this week - what started out with a Bordallo Pinheiro "Geranium" table morphed into Fitz & Floyd "Calla Lilly" somehow. It went from bright, cheery, and casual to darker, more serious, and slightly glamorous. Don't really know how it happened, but it happened......

When Restoration Hardware got "too big" for our little community as it's headquarters several years ago, it closed the original store - much to our dismay, but everything in the store was on sale - including these gorgeous gold ornaments.

Phoenicopterus Ruber Plasticus Table

It was truly a sad day when we learned of the passing of Don Featherstone. While we didn't know his name before, his "contribution to society" has been a topic of many conversations over the years - not to mention the fund raising by local schools and service organizations that his creation has made......well, to be honest, donations made to keep his creation off your lawn......Anyway, Pat wanted to "do" a table in tribute of the man who created her arch nemesis - the plastic, pink flamingo. (Pat's husband has a five foot tall metal pink lawn flamingo which she is hiding in my garage hoping he will forget about it this year...and that is just the beginning of his collection...)

So Don, here's to you, the inventor of the infamous Phoenicopterus Ruber Plasticus (or more commonly known as the plastic pink flamingo):

Pat was terrified when I bought these a while back - fearing I would "add" to her husband's every expanding collection....

What could be more "appropriate" than a plastic plate??? (Everyone knows I hate plastic plates....) Pat found them at a church rummage sale years ago.

Pat found a new color from Fusion spray paint - this one is called "Coral." Her sweet husband spray painted a dozen inexpensive lacquer chargers for us.

Inexpensive Dollar Store green glasses

I am nuts about bread and butter plates - all different kinds and colors. I just love the look of them on a table. Between the two of us, Pat and I own 31 different colors of Fiesta bread and butter plates alone. When I found this "new" color at Replacements, I just had to have them (vintage Forest Green Fiesta 1951-1959).

What can be said about the centerpiece???? Well, the word "Gorgeous" does not come to mind....
