Ice Crystal New Year's Tablescape

The new year is just around the corner and it's time to say good-bye to 2012. The table is set for celebrating - tux, tails, and ties set the mood. Granted - our table is not your usual formal tablescape for a New Year's table - but, nonetheless, one that is classy and clever.

Woodland Theme Christmas Tablescape

We wanted to post one more Christmas tablescape before the end of the year. Well, Pat had a few family members over for a casual late night supper yesterday, and fortunately, I grabbed the camera. She never just "throws down the dishes." No, Pat set another great table using some inexpensive dishes that she bought at Kohl's this year and green Dollar Store glassware to make a beautiful Woodland theme setting. Of course, dinner was great (Pat's husband is a fantastic cook, too), but the table was the topic of conversation.

The large salad plate comes in both white or beige
Pat chose beige dinner plates (it comes in white, also) to use as chargers
The flatware handle has a unique scene on it
Green Dollar Store glassware is the perfect color
Pat used Woodland Santa ornaments as napkin rings
Small candle holders are nestled in the greenery
One last look......

Classic Christmas Tablescape

Just like the song says, Christmas is "the most wonderful time of the year" - a time to share with family and friends. It's also a time to remember those that are not with us anymore. Pat and I wanted to set the table this time using our Mother's Christmas dishes that she bought a few years before she passed away and silver flatware that our Dad bought for her when we were young. It makes for a timeless and classic tablescape.

After the table was set and Pat was leaving for home, she stopped at the front door and then ran back to the "dish room." She pulled out some colored goblets and replaced the clear crystal. We liked both. So.....here's pictures of the two different settings. See what you think.

The charger is actually in a pattern called "Mansfield" - also by Lenox
